Artist statement:
“Today the @phillymayor and @phlcouncil voted for the amended FY21 budget, which eliminates $19 million increase proposed for the FY21 Philadelphia P0l!c3 Department budget and moves crossing guards and safety officers out of the PPD budget. There are no real cuts to the PPD.** (via @kendraphlcouncil)”

I am disappointed with the @phillymayor and @phlcouncil decision today.
Only Councilmember @kendraphlcouncil voted no

✨We want funds for the community! ✨Education, Libraries ✨ Health ✨Internet & Tec ✨ Homeless Services ✨Arts✨ Parks & Recs✨ Housing ✨Mental Health Services✨

For those who work directly in these communities and services and for those who participate in these services, we know the community needs this! We know what a little bit more funding does in these establishments. We don’t need to be over-pol1c3d.
People who work directly in the community imagine every day a world that is better for one another.. 🦋 It is the people who are doing the work, pulling money together, working endless hours, giving their heart, sweat, tears so that our community can thrive!
I know this feels like a loss Philly, but we can continue to speak up and demand our city to fund care not c0ps

Keep your head up, we are a city of underdogs;) sending my sisterly love to this amazing community ❤️ “
